Scandinavian
design really sets a golden standard for modernity and function,
whether we're talking about a Hemnes TV unit or a special penis
measuring tape.
A
youth clinic in Stockholm will today begin handing out purpose-built
circumference measurers to its young male patients. The initiative is
aimed at insuring that today's youths are buying the right size condoms,
reports The Guardian, seeing as incorrect condom size can lead to sexually transmitted diseases.
“A
common reason for a condom slipping off or breaking during sex is that
you’ve bought the wrong size,’’ a male nurse at the clinic, Eddie
Sandstrom, said in a podcast recently. “You have to measure the
circumference of the penis when erect, not the length. On our measuring
tape you get the measurement in millimeters and a few recommendations
for condom types that are suitable.” He added that awareness campaigns
are proving ineffective at sufficiently reducing the number of cases of
gonorrhea and chlamydia.
Apparently
five young men stopped in at the clinic yesterday to ask for a
measuring tape, a day before the product was made available. No word on
whether they went home or camped outside for the big drop.
Remember, boys: It's not a competition. But evidently size does matter, at least when what you're trying to get in the bedroom is not gonorrhea.
